Humphrey's Peak Summit
Hiking up Arizona's Highest Summit
At 12,633 feet above sea level, Humphrey's Peak is Arizona's highest point and the 12th highest of the 50 US state high points.
I hiked to the summit via the Humphrey's Peak Trail starting at Arizona Snow Bowl, which is a roughly 10.5 mile out and back with an impressive 7,628 feet of elevation gain. I did this hike in late April when there is still a fair amount of snow on the ground above and below the tree line. For this reason I hiked a decent portion of this with spikes and poles. While sunny and a beautiful day by all means, the wind at the top was absolutely brutal.
