Lone Peak Summit Hike
This was my first big Utah peak at 11,300’ above sea level at the summit.
This was my first big Utah peak at 11,300’ above sea level at the summit. I took the Peak View trail to Jacob’s Ladder route which covered about 16.6 miles and around 5600’ of gain over 7 hours out and back.
This was probably one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever stepped foot in. The terrain changed so much along the way. Scrub and sage brush, to pine forests, to aspen groves and enormous areas of quartzite stone.
Entering the circue with about 1500 feet remaining I was in awe of the almost vertical stone wall to the summit.
At the top you find two summit markers, one false, one true.
