Mt. Mitchell - 2026

I made it to the top of North Carolina on April 16th, 2026 as part of a 5 highpointer excursion through the Apalacchia/Blue Ridge area. At 6,684', Mt. Mitchell is North Carolina's highest point and the United State's 16th highest point. The summit also has the distinction of being the highest point east of the Mississippi River. The site is very accessible and features a really nice observation deck at the peak.
