Panorama Point - 2025

On July 10th, during my move from Utah back to Indiana, I made a point to visit Panorama Point, Nebraska's highest elevation at 5,424 feet. Located in the state's southwestern panhandle near the borders of Colorado and Wyoming, the site sits on private ranchland where a stone marker and modest monument commemorate the high point. Standing there among the shortgrass prairie, I could see for miles across the gently sloping terrain, though the summit itself was so subtle it was hard to believe I was at Nebraska's peak. The ranching family who owns the land graciously allows visitors to access the site, and after signing the register and taking in the sweeping views of the High Plains, I continued eastward on my journey, heading next to Mount Sunflower in Kansas to knock out another state highpoint before pressing on toward Indiana.Retry
